Derby failure! Rapid Vienna reports injury to Ferdy Druijf
The SK Rapid has to do without striker Ferdy Druijf at the Vienna Derby. The Dutch suffered a heavy bone bruise.
U21 team player Jonas Auer has joined the team training again, but there is one for rapid painful failure: striker Ferdy Druijf, most recently double goal scorer in the 2-2 against Austria Klagenfurt, suffered a strong bone bruise in the knee and has to pause.
Rapid's team doctor Dr. Lukas Brandner: "Ferdy Druijf is currently not allowed to be burdened at all and must therefore also use crutches for the coming days. The next clinical examination is on the program in around a week, after which we will see how the healing course is going." At the derby on Sunday, the Dutch attacker will definitely fail.
A future rapid player got worse these days. Roman Kerschbaum, currently still Admiraner, suffered a tendon injury in the ankle and has to undergo surgery. "We were here in a very good exchange with our colleagues from the Admira. An operational intervention is necessary in the case of Roman Kerschbaum, which is carried out by Dr. Florian Gruber, an absolute foot specialist, and to me in the coming days," so Brandner.

It will take much longer to the green and white debut of Kerschbaum: a failure until late summer is forecast.
