New doom game potentially in development

Doom Eternal is the 1st part of the ego shooter video game series DOOM developed by ID software. The continuation of Doom from 2016 was released on 20 March 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows and Google Stadia. On December 8, 2020, the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch, 9 June 2021 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

A new game of the Doom franchise could be in the early stages of development in Software ID. Although this game in question may not be related to DOOM at all, ID Software has recently placed a series of new roles in the study that has caused the next project. And although it seems that we will not know for a long time what this new game is, this project will be the first one that arises since ID Software joined Xbox Game Studios.

Seen in a handful of new job offers in the official media of Zenimax Website, it is said that ID Software is hiring personnel specifically for the purpose of developing a new game in an long-term iconic action FPS. There were not many details associated with the franchise in question, but the publication did explain more about what a possible employee will make once he is strengthened in the study. This position will be responsible for the implementation of AAA quality animation platforms with an approach in the implementation of the fabric and Havok hair. Working in coordination with concept, modeling and animations teams, applicants will have the task of creating hair platforms and fabric that will be used as a gameplay and cinematic, said the description.

In a general sense, there seems to be two probable options of what this new project could be in Software ID. To begin with, a new doom title is very possible given the success Condenar and Doom eternal have been for Bethesda in recent years. Not only have both games have been very well received by criticism, but have also been very good for Bethesda. However, ID Software has previously indicated with the launch of the end piece of DLC for Doom eternal that can put the Doom series on the shelf for a while.

With this in mind, the other resurgence that seems possible would be with Quake. Only this year, Bethesda really linked a remastered version of the original Quake for modern platforms. The Remaster was a success among fans and may have been the first advance that ID Software soon plans to bring the series back in a wider way in the future.

Regardless of what this new project may be, as mentioned, this game will be the first one ID Software has performed under the standard of Xbox Game Studios. As such, as long as it ended up throwing away, it will be exclusive of the Xbox ecosystem.
