The President of Blizzard resigns in the middle of the trial in California
Blizzard Entertainment was a firm favorite of the fans in the video game industry and still maintains massive IP under its umbrella, including Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft. However, over the last week, the company was under fire from fans, video players and the general population when California filed a sexual harassment complaint against the company. The trial covers a wide range of allegations made by employees and serious and saddening allegations were discovered. In light of this, J. Allen Brack announced that he would leave the direction of the studio.
J. Allen Brack began working at Blizzard Entertainment in 2005 and became president of the company in 2018. However, recent allegations and controversies need a decision which showed an intolerant attitude to the allegation. Brack has decided to retire.
Brack will be replaced by Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra, who jointly lead Blizzard in the future. Jen Oneal joined Blizzard in January as executive vice president of development and has mainly been involved in Overwatch and Diablo. She was the former director of Vicarious Visions, a company that is now part of Blizzard Entertainment.
Mike Ybarra made a long stay at Xbox and oversees the development of Battle.net and organizational development services at Blizzard since his arrival in 2019.
Starting Brack left the following message _ "I am convinced that Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra provide the leadership that Blizzard needs to realize its full potential and accelerate the pace of change. I expect they will do with passion and enthusiasm and we can trust to lead them to the highest levels of integrity and commitment to the components of our culture that make Blizzard if spécial._
